As one of the most established and leading international schools in Hong Kong, GSIS takes great pride in its dynamic educational landscape, which encompasses two successful streams: the German International Stream (GIS) and the English International Stream (EIS). The GIS offers the German International Abitur (DIA), while the EIS provides the IGCSE and International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). Both streams award internationally recognised diplomas, opening doors to diverse career opportunities around the world.

Within our culturally diverse and inclusive environment, we aim to enhance intercultural competence, demonstrating our commitment to developing students into global citizens equipped for a dynamic world. At GSIS, our diverse community comprises individuals from over 30 countries, allowing us to focus on delivering knowledge, deepening understanding, and fostering essential skills needed to succeed in a globalised environment, all while honouring our German and Swiss cultural roots.

Sustainability and the pursuit of meaningful answers are also key priorities for us. Beyond the curriculum, we aim to prepare our students for a successful future by constantly evaluating and enhancing our programmes, curricula, and activities to ensure our long-standing commitment to educational excellence. We understand that academic achievement is just one aspect of a well-rounded education. At the heart of our school is a deep commitment to the care and support of each individual student. We believe that nurturing the social, emotional, and personal growth is just as crucial as developing their intellectual abilities.

We take pride in the numerous cross-stream activities that foster collaboration between students and staff across sports, music, and art, not to forget our annual Discovery Week. These initiatives contribute significantly to our ‘one school’ philosophy, and we are committed to raising awareness and encouraging even greater participation.

Technology, including AI, plays a key role in modern education, enabling us to prepare our students for the future. However, it is the unique human capabilities of communication, creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration that remain irreplaceable. Our approach to education embraces lifelong learning, adaptability, and the continuous professional development of our teachers to blend traditional knowledge with essential 21st-century skills.

I am extremely proud to serve as the School Principal of such a vibrant and dynamic community. Together, we look forward to another year of growth, learning, and success.

Thank you for being part of our school’s exciting journey as we celebrate our 55th anniversary.
