ESF Sha Tin College

Sha Tin College was established in 1982 and is part of the English Schools
Foundation (ESF). Students study the International Baccalaureate Middle Years
Programme (MYP) for three years. The MYP prepares students
to meet future academic challenges, including IGCSE and the IB Diploma
Programme (DP). The school aims to sustain an inclusive culture where every voice
contributes to school life, where students can lead their own learning and engage with
    challenging ideas.

A very warm welcome to the Sha Tin College website where we hope to offer you an insight into life on our campus.

At Sha Tin College “We challenge our students to make meaningful contributions to the world.” This clearly-stated Purpose complements our Values: “Be Curious, Be Inclusive, Be Generous, Be Responsible”. This focus supports our Priorities where we work towards: an inclusive culture where every voice contributes to school life; and where students can lead their own learning and engage with challenging ideas.

The first thing that strikes most guests to the College is the warmth, joy and vibrancy of the welcome. There is a palpable energy and sense of purpose, as well as a strong work ethic, exemplified by students and staff alike. Our students are serious about their learning and our staff both nurture and challenge them.

We are very much an inclusive community where we value and nurture effective and productive relationships between students, parents and staff. The diversity of our community is something we value and celebrate, where each member of our community can find a place where they can be themselves.

Our exceptional examination results speak for themselves and highlight our commitment to academic achievement and success for each individual student. That alone however is only part of what we value at Sha Tin College in ensuring our students are well-educated and prepared for life beyond school. With a focus on experiential learning opportunities, students are encouraged to get involved and explore the world around them. We especially focus on building student self-awareness, self-esteem and leadership skills and encourage our students to lead active, healthy, sustainable lives.

The sense of community at Sha Tin College is strong and is most evident in our House system. All students and staff are members of one of our four Houses: Dragon, Griffin, Pegasus and Phoenix. The Houses are run by student leaders and focus on a variety of activities, events and competitions throughout the academic year. There is an equal measure of healthy rivalry between the Houses and students supporting each other, which culminates in the hotly anticipated award of House trophies at the end of year.

The team at Sha Tin College very much look forward to having the opportunity to welcome you to our truly wonderful school.
